Physio Exercise Classes in Brighton

Physioiotherapist-Led Strength and Movement Programs Inspired by Pilates

Our Physio Exercise Classes are physiotherapist-led exercise sessions designed to help you
move better, build strength, and stay injury free.
Exercises are influenced by movement principles commonly used in Pilates and use
specialised equipment such as reformers, trapeze tables, resistance equipment, and stability
tools.
The difference is that every participant follows an individualised program designed by a
physiotherapist, ensuring exercises are appropriate for your body, your goals, and your
injury history.
Many people associate this style of exercise with clinical Pilates, but at Physiosports Brighton
it is delivered as a physiotherapist-supervised exercise program focused on strength,
movement quality, and injury prevention.

Small groups. Personalised programs. Expert supervision.

Why People Choose Physio Exercise Classes

Many exercise classes are not designed for people with injuries or physical limitations.
They often move too quickly, assume everyone can perform the same exercises, or fail to consider previous injuries.
Physio Exercise Classes provide a safer and more structured approach.

They help you:

1

Build deep core strength

2

Improve flexibility and mobility

3

Develop better posture and movement control

4

Reduce the risk of injury

5

Improve balance and stability

6

Support sport, gym training, and everyday activity

The focus is not simply exercise. The focus is building strength and movement that supports long-term health and activity.

What Makes These Classes Different

img 5064

Our Physio Exercise program is delivered in small groups, with a maximum of five people
per session.
Each participant follows an individualised exercise program designed by their
physiotherapist
, rather than everyone performing the same routine.
Your physiotherapist supervises the session closely and progresses exercises based on your
strength, movement quality, and goals.
Exercises are inspired by Pilates principles but are progressed using clinical reasoning and
physiotherapy expertise.
This approach allows you to gain the strength and control often associated with Pilates while
ensuring exercises remain appropriate for your body.

How the Program Works

To join a group class, you’ll first need to complete at least one one-on-one session. This allows us to ensure you’re performing the exercises safely and correctly, setting you up for success.

Step 1 – Initial Physiotherapy Assessment

Before joining a class, you will complete a one-on-one physiotherapy assessment.
Your physiotherapist will assess:
Your injury history
Movement patterns and posture
Strength and flexibility
Your goals for exercise
From this assessment we design your personalised exercise program.
This ensures your exercises are safe, targeted, and effective.

Step 2 – Small Group Sessions

Our Physio Exercise program is delivered in small groups, with a maximum of five people
per session.
Each participant follows their own personalised exercise program while the physiotherapist
supervises and progresses exercises throughout the session.
Sessions run for approximately 50–55 minutes.
We use specialised equipment including reformers, trapeze tables, resistance equipment, and
stability tools commonly used in Pilates-based rehabilitation.

Step 3 – Program Progression

As your strength and movement improve, your physiotherapist will progress your exercises.
Regular review sessions ensure your program continues to challenge your body and support
your goals.

One-on-One Physio Exercise Sessions

Some clients prefer individual sessions, particularly when starting out or recovering from injury.

One-on-one sessions allow your physiotherapist to guide you through exercises step by step and progress your program at a pace suited to your body.

Unsupervised Sessions

Once your physiotherapist is confident you can perform your program safely, you may be cleared to attend unsupervised sessions.
These sessions allow you to continue your personalised exercise program independently in the studio.
They provide a flexible way to maintain strength, mobility, and consistency between supervised sessions.

Is This Program Right For You?

Physio Exercise Classes are designed for people who want to stay active but need exercise
that respects their body.

They are particularly suited to people who:

  • Have had injuries in the past and want to exercise safely
  • Experience recurring back, neck, hip, or knee pain
  • Want expert guidance rather than large fitness classes
  • Are returning to exercise after physiotherapy
  • Want to improve strength, flexibility, and posture

Many of our clients are active adults who want to keep doing the activities they enjoy without pain or injury holding them back
